Absolutely! Sleeping inside your car is much safer than most tent setups. With Grotto, you’ll be resting on an elevated platform, completely separated from the outside and protected by the solid shell of your vehicle. Nothing outside can disturb or harm you.

It also provides a cozy, weather-proof space. Whether it’s windy, cold, or raining, you’ll sleep comfortably in the secure shelter of your Grotto.

Grotto was created to eliminate the need for bulky roof racks and large storage space. Not everyone has that flexibility, especially casual campers, weekend adventurers, and young professionals who love the outdoors but value simplicity and comfort.

Most cars don’t have a perfectly flat or long enough surface when the seats are folded down. And when you lay a mattress directly on the floor, you lose all the storage space for essentials like an esky, bags, or camp chairs.

Grotto solves both problems. It gives you a flat, comfortable surface to sleep on while keeping plenty of space underneath for your gear. It’s a smart, space-efficient solution for modern campers.

After three years of testing and refining different designs, we created the Grotto Base with a unique adjustable structure that removes the limits of fixed height. You can lower it close to the boot floor for maximum headroom or raise it to create extra storage space underneath. Every detail is crafted to adapt to your needs and comfort.

At this stage, we’re still developing custom window covers for Grotto. In the meantime, you can easily find vehicle-specific privacy shades or window covers with a quick search.

If you prefer a DIY solution, simple cardboard cutouts shaped to your windows work surprisingly well for privacy.

For ventilation, we recommend using sock-style window nets. Their dense mesh provides privacy while allowing fresh air in and keeping bugs out. You can open your windows as much as you like and stay protected.
